Fiqh Al- Taharah Workshop
19th December 2020
Lower Hutt Islamic Centre, Taita.
This workshop was conducted by sister Asma Ibrahim on the 19th of December.
The workshop was attended by girls and women alike. The topic was a much needed education that was essential in a daily life of a Muslimah. Sr Asma Ibrahim did a marvellous job in conducting a wholesome information on what clean and pure means in terms of personal hygiene in Islam. Sr Asma explained how there are different schools of thoughts and how did they originate. How to count the days you are clean after a menstrual cycle and how to calculate that on your own so that you can catch up on your prayers. The ladies went away with a skillset and understanding of minute differences in opinion within different School Of Thoughts around the Islamic world. LHMC has received a great positive response from everyone who attended the workshop.
This was followed by some refreshments and ladies catching up and discussing how they felt about learning something whether this was completely new as in the case of young Muslim girls or build up on their previous knowledge of how to take a shower and clean themselves after major impurities. Sister Asma Ibrahim will be most welcome in the future to work with and educate our Lower Hutt Muslim community in their knowledge of Quran and Sunnah.
